May 4, 2011 – If you are a beer enthusiast, or often have parties where beer is consumed, then you may wish to invest in a beer fridge. A beer fridge is great since it is made to hold either beer cans or beer bottles and keep them at the optimal temperature for consumption. An alternative is the kegerator. This contraption dispenses beer from a tap, while keeping it cool.
Beer fridges are often made in very modern, cool designs. This way they look great no matter where you put one. Some people put them in their living room, so that the beer is within reach while watching TV shows or a big game. Other might have a man cave, or a bar where it would be more appropriate to put a beer fridge. The decision is up to you. They really look good no matter which room you choose to put it in.
You must take great consideration into how large the beer fridge should be. If it is going to sit in your living room, and only be used by you and maybe one other person, then you can get away with something relatively small. You will want to get one which is smaller in this case anyway because it will use less energy and therefore cost less to power. However, if you are going to put it in a bar and be using it for parties and such, then you will want one that is much larger, since restocking it will get to be a pain.
The type you buy will also be influenced by what type of beer you drink. If you drink bottled beer, then you will not want to buy one which is made specifically to hold cans. This also works the other way around. And if you are looking for fresh, tapped, beer, then a kegerator is what you really want.
